ZSIC General Insurance Limited officially launched the Cyber Crime Insurance Product, reinforcing commitment to innovation and response to the growing threat of cyber-crime in Zambia’s increasingly digital economy.
The product was unveiled at a media launch addressed by ZSIC General Insurance Managing Director, Mr. Trevor Jengajenga, said the Cyber Crime Insurance Product will address emerging risks associated with the rapid adoption of digital technologies.
He explained that the new Cyber Crime Insurance Product is designed to support organisations before, during, and after a cyber-incident.
“It provides financial protection alongside access to specialised technical, legal, and communication expertise required to respond effectively to data breaches, ransomware attacks, and other cyber events,” he said.
“The cover also recognises that cyber incidents often affect third parties and therefore addresses liabilities arising from privacy breaches, confidentiality failures, and security lapses, while supporting engagements with regulatory and enforcement authorities,” he added.
Speaking on the broader role of insurance, Mr. Jengajenga reaffirmed ZSIC General Insurance’s contribution to national development.
He noted that insurance plays a critical role in sustaining economic activity by enabling recovery and resilience.
ZSIC General Insurance has reaffirmed its dedication to innovation, customer protection, and national development, positioning the Cyber Crime Insurance Product as a timely and strategic solution for Zambia’s evolving digital landscape.
