Mansa, 24.04.26 - Republican President Hakainde Hichilema has commended ZSIC General Insurance for the sustainability role it is playing in supporting the agriculture sector.
The Head of State noted that insurance is providing a critical avenue for continuity in the agriculture sector, particularly in the face of diverse risks such as climate change.
President Hakainde Hichilema made the remarks during a tour of the ZSIC General Insurance stand at the 2026 Luapula Investment Expo.
During the engagement, ZSIC General Director – Branch Operations Sydney Mwanza updated the President on the company’s record claims payments achieved in 2025, which exceeded K500 million, with K122 million paid out in agriculture‑related claims.
Mr. Mwanza explained that ZSIC General’s participation in the expo is aimed at providing reliable risk‑mitigation support to investors seeking to establish both small‑ and large‑scale investments across various sectors of the economy.
